Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has clarified that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is not being singled out by the government. Instead, action is being taken only against individuals who have violated the law, as no one is above legal accountability.
Speaking on the TV program Geo Pakistan, Talal Chaudhry said that PTI leadership has been advised to distance itself from those who are involved in unlawful activities. He added that police have collected evidence and made arrests accordingly, noting that the presence of Aleema Khan’s son alongside Hassaan Niazi has also been observed in this context.
The Minister of State further said that the Speaker of the National Assembly has extended an open invitation for a grand dialogue, keeping his office accessible in both the National Assembly and the Senate to facilitate political discussions. He urged PTI to accept this offer if it is serious about engaging in dialogue to resolve issues through talks rather than confrontation.
Talal Chaudhry emphasized that the results of the upcoming by-elections will be respected, as public opinion holds the highest importance in a democratic system.
It is worth noting that amid the ongoing political tensions, both the arrests and the offer for dialogue are being seen as significant steps toward rebuilding the relationship between the government and the opposition.
