Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has emphasized that cultural diplomacy, educational cooperation, and the promotion of tourism are powerful tools that can bring people closer and strengthen international relations.
She made these remarks during a special dinner hosted in her honor by former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who warmly welcomed her and engaged in meaningful discussions on bilateral cooperation.
Maryam Nawaz stated that the friendship between Pakistan and Thailand is built on mutual respect, trust, and economic partnership. She added that Punjab’s vision of progress is based on innovation, modernization, and dedicated public service.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Punjab government aims to increase investment in key sectors, including textiles, agriculture, tourism, and information technology, to create employment opportunities and bolster the province’s economy. She praised Thailand’s example of institutional capacity building, calling it a model worth emulating.
She further stressed that under the “Digital Nation” vision, youth in Punjab are being equipped with modern skills. At the same time, the province’s strategic location ensures easy access to regional markets, making it an attractive destination for investors.
