The initial investigation into the tragic incident in Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony, where two brothers died due to electrocution on Tuesday, has been completed.
According to a statement issued by K-Electric’s spokesperson, preliminary findings revealed that the company’s infrastructure was not responsible for the accident. The spokesperson explained that the current originated from an internal wire connected to the iron grill and the iron gate installed inside the house, which caused the fatal incident.
It is worth noting that following the tragedy, the victims’ father lodged an FIR at Shah Faisal Colony Police Station, naming senior officials of K-Electric. The case was registered after the two brothers lost their lives due to electrocution during heavy rainfall in the city.
Police reported that the incident took place in Natha Khan Goth within Shah Faisal Colony police limits, where 21-year-old Murad, son of Sultan, and his 16-year-old brother Siraj, also son of Sultan, lost their lives on the spot. The heartbreaking incident plunged the locality into mourning and raised questions among residents regarding the safety of the electricity system.
