Karachi: The results of polling for all 59 seats of local government elections in 15 districts of Sindh have been received. People’s Party is leading in local body elections.
According to unofficial and provisional results, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has won 39 seats and emerged victorious. The candidates of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) were successful on 6 seats, while the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secured 2 seats, and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) managed to win one seat.
According to the Election Commission, independent candidates were successful on 9 seats. The contest in the local government elections was held for the seats of chairman, vice-chairman, district council member, and general member.
