Wedding halls across Karachi announced the closure of their operations after being hammered by the city administration’s hammering campaign, as announced by the Wedding Halls Association.
According to details, the owners of wedding halls have declared their intention to protest after the Eid festival. The Wedding Halls Association also issued a statement announcing the closure of all wedding halls in Karachi after Eid.
In this regard, President of the Wedding Hall Association, Rana Raees, has warned that if the hammering of wedding halls does not stop, they will shut down the wedding halls after Eid. If the government does not reconsider the matter, the scope of the protest will be expanded further.
Rana Raees, while outlining the protest plan, said that in the first phase, boycotting wedding ceremonies will be observed throughout the city, after which this movement will spread across Sindh, and wedding halls in Sindh will also be closed.
He stated that the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and the Karachi administration continue the process of hammering legal wedding halls. Despite having all the legal documents, the halls are being hammered.
The President of the Wedding Halls Association further stated that the owners of the wedding halls are deeply saddened and outraged by the administration’s actions. They have demanded that former President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari take note of the situation as well.
