Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Yusuf Raza Gilani has stated that Bilawal Bhutto is providing statements in response to the prevailing situation, and the impression of favoritism should come to an end. He emphasized the need for free and fair elections.
Speaking to the media in Lodhran, former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani expressed his belief that there is no possibility of the election being postponed after the confirmation of the President, Election Commission, and Chief Justice. He stated that he does not think the PPP will engage in seat adjustment with anyone, and the party will contest elections according to its manifesto.
He said that there is no possibility of the election being postponed, and every party will participate in the election according to its manifesto. Commenting on the post-election scenario, he mentioned that predicting the situation after the election would be premature.
He also stated that both Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto are on the same page, and any differences between them, as seen after the Quetta rally, have been resolved.
He emphasized that bringing the PPP on one page does not make a difference; the party will play on the front foot. The PPP, he added, will emerge stronger and more influential in Sindh.
Yusuf Raza Gilani remarked that Southern Punjab is considered neglected and backward, and there is a sense of deprivation in the region. The PPP has previously addressed the issues of the province and this region’s deprivation.
