Lahore High Court has suspended the Speaker’s order to accept the resignation of 43 members of PTI. The resignations of 124 members have been accepted, including the resignation of Sheikh Rasheed.
Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court heard the petitions of PTI MNAs, after which the court issued notices to other parties including the Election Commission.
Ali Zafar said that the resignations of members of the National Assembly were accepted contrary to the rules set by the Supreme Court, Speaker National Assembly accepted resignations to target political revenge, Before accepting the resignation, the Speaker did not call the members and ask for their opinion, the move to accept the resignation without the consent of the members is unconstitutional.
Apart from this, the Speaker National Assembly accepted the resignations of 11 members of the National Assembly of PTI in July 2022, out of which Shakur Shad, Member of the National Assembly from Karachi, filed a petition in the court and withdrew his resignation.
The Speaker National Assembly accepted the resignations of 35 more PTI members on January 20.
Now after the approval of 43 more resignations, a total of 123 resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and one resignation of Sheikh Rasheed have been accepted.
