Lahore: 2 people were killed and 8 people, including 4 women, were injured in an explosion in the Jafar Express train from Quetta to Peshawar. The explosion in the train took place in the limits of Mian Chanu while the train driver applied the brakes near the Chichawatani railway station. 850 passengers were traveling in the train.
According to Rescue 1122, the explosion took place in bogie number four, in which Tablighi Jamaat people were also present, who were going to Raiwind. The injured were transferred to THQ Chichawatani, one of whom is in critical condition.
The passenger says that there was no cylinder in bogie number 4. When the explosion happened in the washroom, people started screaming. They kept pulling the chain of the train but the driver did not stop the train. The investigation is going on whether the explosion was from a cylinder or not.
