Lahore: In the 16th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8, Lahore Qalandars have defeated Islamabad United by a huge margin of 110 runs after a one-sided encounter.
In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Lahore Qalandars won the toss and decided to bat, scoring 200 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Abdullah Shafiq of Lahore Qalandars was prominent with 45 runs while Mirza Tahir Baig 20, Fakhar Zaman 36, Sam Billings 33, Hussain Talat 6, Sikandar Raza 23, David Visa 12 and Rashid Khan scored 18 runs.
On behalf of Islamabad United, Tom Curren guided 3 players to the pavilion and Shadab Khan took 2 wickets while Hasan Ali and Abrar Ahmed dismissed one player each.
During the pursuit of the target, Islamabad United’s batting line-up proved to be a tough nut to crack, as they successfully defended their rate and 8 batsmen couldn’t even cross the double-digit mark. Rahmanullah scored 23 runs and remained prominent while Colin Munro scored 18, Rassie van der Dussen 3, Shadab Khan 4, Azam Khan 4, Asif Ali 3, Faheem Ashraf 4, Tom Curran 10, and Hasan Ali 4 runs.
