During a military exercise in the Pokhran Range of the western district of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, the Indian army fired three missiles erroneously, causing fear and panic in surrounding areas.
According to Indian media outlets, the firing exercise was taking place in the Pokhran field when the three missiles, which were supposed to be launched into the sky from the ground, were fired inaccurately.
The missiles landed in various rural areas, causing powerful explosions, but no reports of casualties or financial losses have been received.
Technical malfunction was cited as the reason for the missiles firing inaccurately, which occurred during the exercise.
India Today reported that investigations have been launched, according to defense spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Amitabh Sharma, and further actions will be taken accordingly.
