Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) elected member of the National Assembly from Karachi, Mehmood Maulvi, has announced his resignation from the assembly membership.
During a press conference in Karachi, PTI’s Deputy President in Sindh, Mehmood Maulvi, stated that he is announcing his departure from the party and also resigning from the membership of the National Assembly.
He mentioned that Imran Khan had given him the ticket, and the party had shown him great respect. The fundamental reason for leaving the party is that I have never gone against my forces in my life, and I will never do so.
He stated that political parties can change; today it is PTI, tomorrow it may be Muslim League (N), and the day after it could be the People’s Party or any other group. However, we can never change our military.
Mehmood Maulvi said that he remembers the wars of 1965 and 1971. Pakistan is secure today because of the same forces, and Pakistan is a nuclear power. On an individual level, conflicts occur, but I don’t like anyone who favors someone’s appearance, be it a brigadier or a general.
He expressed that if I were to sit and tell the entire army that this army is not right and there is chaos and destruction over the martyrs and their memorials, what do we want to say?
