Ankara: In Turkey and Syria, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 caused widespread destruction and led to the collapse of tall and high-rise buildings. Over 50 aftershocks have continued for several hours. The death toll in both countries has exceeded 2600.
According to international media, the intensity of the earthquake was so high that it was felt as far as Greenland and Denmark. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says that it is not yet possible to estimate how much the death toll from the earthquake will increase.
He said that so far 45 countries have offered help in the search and rescue operation, This is the biggest disaster since the 1939 earthquake.
