Match referee Richie Richardson will conduct a hearing this afternoon on the case filed against Pakistani cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan. Both players will appear under the ICC Code of Conduct.
It should be noted that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had lodged a formal complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) against the Pakistan team players. According to Indian media, the BCCI sent an email to the ICC demanding strict action against the two cricketers.
The complaint alleged that Pakistani players displayed provocative gestures during the match. The BCCI claimed that Haris Rauf made a jet crash gesture and showed a 0-6 sign in response to fans chanting “Kohli, Kohli,” while Sahibzada Farhan celebrated his half-century with a gunfire-style gesture.
