Concerns have been raised by the Punjab government over the 24-hour deadline given to Imran Khan to surrender himself, hiding in his house, along with an estimated 30-40 terrorists. The deadline, which was set to end at 2 p.m. on Thursday, has passed without any orders received by the Lahore police to initiate the authorized operation.
The police authorities are making efforts to avoid questions from the media regarding the factors causing the delay in the operation.
Punjab Police had previously stated, “No decision has been made yet to initiate a police operation for the arrest of suspected individuals from the residence of the PTI chief.”
Furthermore, the police claimed that on May 9, eight suspected individuals were arrested in connection with violence when they were attempting to escape from Imran Khan’s residence.
In a statement, Aamir Mir, said, “These terrorists were involved in the attack on the Lahore Commander House on May 9.”
SP Hassan Javed, while speaking to media representatives outside Zaman Park, confirmed the arrests and stated that the suspected individuals will be questioned in relation to cases involving attacks on military installations and other properties.
