The caretaker government has started preparations to increase the price of petrol after electricity. Prices of petroleum products are likely to increase by Rs 15 per liter from September 1.
According to sources, the price of diesel is expected to increase by 14 rupees while the price of petrol is expected to increase by 10 rupees per liter.
The Ministry of Finance will give the final approval for the increase in the prices of petroleum products in consultation with the caretaker Prime Minister, the price increase will be for the next 15 days.
