Islamabad: Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that if the court summons him regarding the Faizabad sit-in, I will reveal what discussions took place.
Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, in a media conversation, stated that the Faizabad sit-in was a perspective in line with the agreement of Ahsan Iqbal, and he was not in favor of the Faizabad sit-in agreement. Regarding the sit-in, if the court inquires, I will reveal the discussions that took place, and I am not seeking leadership or position.
He mentioned that if the police had wanted, they could have removed the demonstrators of the Faizabad sit-in, but they could not remove three to four hundred individuals. Parliament’s sit-in involves judges and the judiciary as well.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi emphasized that political, military, and judicial leadership must sit together. Presently, the situation is extraordinary, and it’s a test for the country’s leadership. No political party is addressing the people’s grievances.
He stated that not holding elections causes more uncertainty, leading to the formation of a new group due to the influence of the three major parties. Conducting elections without determining the path will be futile, and the re-emerging Pakistan platform was created to identify shortcomings.
