Karachi: After the increase in the prices of petroleum products, the flight of the dollar continues. The dollar has increased by 4 rupees 40 paise to 267 rupees in the interbank market. The price of the dollar has increased by 35 rupees in five days.
On Friday, the dollar was pegged at 262 rupees 60 paise. Today, before the start of the business week, there has been an increase in the dollar rate. Analysts believe that the decrease in the value of rupees is proof that the government has abandoned its policy of keeping the dollar rate fixed and now IMF conditions are forcing negotiations with international financial institutions.
