ISLAMABAD: The federal government has increased gas prices by fulfilling the conditions of the International Monitoring Fund (IMF). The approval to raise the price of natural gas was given in a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) chaired by the Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
The government has increased the gas prices from 16.6% to 124%, but domestic consumers using up to 50 cubic meters of gas will be exempted from the above increase.
The gas prices have been increased by the government for all sectors including domestic, commercial, power sector, fertilizer, cement industry and CNG.
It should be noted that earlier in the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting presided over by Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, the increase in the price of natural gas was approved.
