An American newspaper has claimed that the United States and Israel have prepared plans for renewed strikes on Iran after the US midterm elections.
According to the report, a US official said both countries had planned further attacks after the elections, while their militaries had intensified exercises for possible strikes. Potential targets include Iran’s energy facilities, nuclear sites, and missile and drone stockpiles.
The official said a brief but intense military operation could push Iran’s economy to the brink of collapse. Such action, the official added, could compel Iran to agree to diplomatic concessions.
According to the official, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth discussed possible strikes with Netanyahu in Israel this week. American and Israeli aircraft are also rehearsing attacks in Iraqi airspace.
