Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has stated that no agenda, movement, or individual is greater than the security of the country.
While addressing a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, held to review the current national security situation, General Asim Munir emphasized that all elements of national power must work in harmony for sustainable stability, as this is a battle for the survival of the nation and future generations.
The Army Chief stated that better governance is needed, and Pakistan must transform into a hard state. He questioned how long Pakistan will continue to sacrifice countless lives under a soft state approach and how long governance gaps will be filled with the blood of Pakistan’s armed forces and martyrs.
General Asim Munir urged religious scholars to expose the distorted interpretation of Islam by extremists. He stressed that if Pakistan exists, then so do its people, and nothing is more important than national security. He called for a unified narrative, rising above political and personal interests, to protect the country.
He further stated that those who believe they can weaken Pakistan through terrorism should know that the nation will stand united not only against them but also against their facilitators. He expressed full faith in Allah, affirming that no matter what happens, success will prevail, InshaAllah.
