Karak: A tragic road accident occurred near Lucky Ghundi on the Indus Highway where a container crushed a Hiace coach traveling from Dera Ismail Khan to Peshawar, resulting in the death of ten people on the spot, including two women, while five others sustained serious injuries.
Two of the deceased were trapped under the container and were retrieved with the help of heavy machinery. According to police, the fatal accident was caused by speeding.
All the injured and deceased were shifted to DHQ Hospital Karak, where the critically injured were later referred to Peshawar after initial medical treatment. Most of the deceased and injured are reported to be residents of Miranshah.
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, prayed for the forgiveness of the departed souls, and for patience for their families.
The Chief Minister also expressed good wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured and instructed the concerned district administration to ensure the provision of the best medical treatment. He stated that the bereaved families are not alone in their grief.
