A horrifying incident in Karachi’s Sharafi Goth area near the Malir River caused panic, where the charred body of an unidentified woman was found inside a blue plastic drum placed by the roadside. The woman’s hands and feet were tied, and her face was severely burned, leading police to suspect an attempt to hide her identity.
According to the news, upon receiving information about the body in the drum, police immediately arrived at the scene and shifted the body to Jinnah Hospital via Chhipa ambulance for legal formalities.
According to Sharafi Goth SHO Rao Khalid, initial investigations revealed that the woman was murdered, her hands and feet tied, placed in the drum, and dumped at the location on Saturday by an unknown vehicle, possibly a rickshaw or Suzuki pickup. The suspects fled after the incident.
The SHO further stated that a residential area is located in front of the spot where the body was found. Residents noticed a foul smell coming from the drum and, finding the situation suspicious, informed the police. Upon arrival, police opened the drum and discovered the woman’s body inside.
Police summoned the crime scene unit, which collected evidence from the location. The woman’s identity could not be determined immediately. The deceased is estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old. A post-mortem is being conducted at Jinnah Hospital, after which the actual cause of death will be determined.
