A high-level meeting was held in Shanghai between Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Provincial Minister for Energy and Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, and senior officials of China’s renowned Yutong Transport Company.
During the meeting, both sides discussed in detail the opportunities for investment in Sindh’s transport and energy sectors. It was agreed that cooperation between the Sindh government and Yutong would be further enhanced to bring modern, safe, and eco-friendly transport solutions to the province.
Yutong officials briefed the visiting ministers about their latest bus models and expressed keen interest in introducing their advanced transport solutions in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh.
Sharjeel Inam Memon reaffirmed that the Sindh government is committed to providing citizens with high-quality and reliable public transport. He highlighted that the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone offers major opportunities for foreign investors, where a ten-year tax exemption and all necessary facilities are being provided. He emphasized that large-scale reforms in the transport sector are a priority, and the provincial government wishes to see companies like Yutong establish modern bus production facilities locally to meet domestic demand.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Provincial Minister for Energy and Planning, stressed that the Sindh government is focused on introducing environmentally friendly and alternative energy-based transport solutions. He noted that Yutong buses, with their eco-friendly features, could serve as the best option for sustainable public transport in Sindh. He assured that the government would provide complete support for transparent investments, ensuring both better services for the people and a sustainable business environment for investors.
