Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has landed in serious trouble after making controversial political remarks during the post-match presentation following the Asia Cup clash against Pakistan.
According to Indian media reports, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken note of the complaint lodged by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and indicated possible action against the Indian skipper.
The ICC is currently reviewing the evidence submitted by Pakistan, with a hearing expected soon. Reports claim that after a preliminary assessment, recommendations have been made for disciplinary action against Yadav.
It should be noted that during the group stage match against Pakistan, the Indian captain made politically charged comments in his presentation, prompting PCB to formally file a complaint with the ICC.
The matter is being overseen by ICC match referee Richie Richardson, who has also sent an email to the Indian team management regarding the issue.
