In a major step toward cancer prevention, the Government of Pakistan has announced a free cancer screening program for children, in collaboration with Europe’s largest cancer research center.
Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal met with a delegation led by renowned cancer specialist Dr. Stephen Fessta. The delegation, consisting of doctors and researchers, declared that advanced technology will be used to provide free cancer screening for children in Pakistan for one year.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kamal said the government will soon launch this program using modern technology to ensure early detection of cancer in children. He further added that Pakistani pathologists will also receive specialized training under this initiative, enabling the service to be more effective at the local level.
