A reduction in petroleum product prices in Pakistan is expected, offering some hope of relief for consumers struggling with rising inflation.
According to a report by a leading national daily, the new prices of petroleum products will be implemented at midnight tonight, and many expect this adjustment to ease daily expenses.
From October 16, petrol prices are likely to decrease by Rs 6.10 per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel may drop by Rs 0.97 per liter, which could reduce transportation costs and indirectly affect prices of essential commodities.
Experts say this expected reduction will provide some breathing space for the public, especially since inflation has continued to rise for the second consecutive week.
The government will make the final decision and announce the revised fuel prices later tonight.
