A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight travelling from Karachi to Sukkur, PK-536, encountered a technical fault shortly after takeoff, forcing the aircraft to return to Karachi Airport. According to sources, the flight had taken off as scheduled, but approximately 17 minutes into the journey, a sudden technical malfunction occurred onboard.
Sources reported that the pilot immediately informed Air Traffic Control about the situation, following which permission was granted to bring the aircraft back safely. The plane was landed without incident, and the flight was subsequently cancelled as a precaution.
Among the passengers onboard were Sindh Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah, Sukkur Mayor Arsalan Shaikh, and several others. After the flight was cancelled due to a technical issue, Nasir Hussain Shah disembarked and left the airport.
According to sources, the minister was scheduled to attend an event in Sukkur the following day, but the flight cancellation disrupted his travel plans. The airline has initiated an inquiry to determine the exact nature of the technical fault.
