Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir expressed strong confidence in the country’s future while speaking informally to journalists at the Presidency, stating that Pakistan is now moving toward a phase of accelerated progress. He said that the overall situation is improving steadily and that this positive change is visible to everyone.
“Everything is fine; everything is in front of you. Things are moving in the right direction, and Pakistan will now take a higher flight from here,” he remarked, signaling an optimistic outlook for the country’s future trajectory.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently approved and forwarded the summary for the appointment of Field Marshal Asim Munir as both Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces. As per the Prime Minister’s recommendation, he will hold both positions simultaneously for a term of five years, making him the country’s first-ever Chief of Defence Forces.
Additionally, the Prime Minister has also approved a two-year extension for the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu. This extension will take effect after completion of his current five-year tenure in March 2026.
