Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has said that Imran Khan is not genuinely interested in political dialogue and has not permitted any PTI leader to engage in talks, which is keeping the political environment tense.
Speaking on a private TV program, he claimed that the government repeatedly offered negotiations, but PTI refused every time, resulting in heightened political friction across the country.
According to Rana Sanaullah, PTI had accepted the Prime Minister’s initiative, the political temperature in the country could have dropped significantly.
He further alleged that Imran Khan and his party leaders are adopting a narrative that resembles India’s stance and does not serve Pakistan’s national interest.
He also claimed that nearly 80 percent of PTI leaders disagree with Imran Khan’s current political approach, and a substantial group within the party is dissatisfied with the way decisions are being taken.
Referring to recent speeches at PTI rallies, he said these statements clearly indicate that the party is heading towards its own political downfall, while most senior figures are unwilling to support this “irrational” direction.
He added that treason charges against Imran Khan cannot be ruled out, and his ultimate fate could be similar to that of the former MQM leadership.
Rana Sanaullah further stated that in the coming days, a clear distinction will be visible between “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf” and “Adiala Tehreek-e-Insaf.”
