The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the date for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly elections. The elections will be held on October 8.
According to the issued notification, the elections will be held on October 8. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had also suggested the same date for the elections.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Haji Ghulam Ali, had written a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan to hold the provincial elections on October 8, keeping in view security concerns.
In his letter, Governor Haji Ghulam Ali mentioned that on March 22, the Election Commission had decided to hold the Punjab Assembly elections on October 8, due to various reasons.
He further added that there has been an increase in terrorism in the province in recent days, and terrorist activities are being carried out on a daily basis.
