The government is considering a proposal to provide petrol subsidies for motorcycles and three-wheeled vehicles, aiming to offer relief to specific consumer groups.
According to sources, under a targeted subsidy plan, eligible users may receive 20 to 30 liters of petrol per month. A QR code system is also being planned to facilitate the distribution of subsidized fuel, with an official announcement expected soon.
According to the report, the federal government has sought Rs154 billion from the provinces to implement austerity measures and improve fiscal discipline.
A statement from the Ministry of Finance said that during a high-level consultative meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, it was informed that fuel supply in the country is sufficient until May 10. A final decision regarding changes in petroleum prices will be made in a meeting between the President, the Prime Minister, and all four Chief Ministers next week.
