US President Donald Trump has stated that telephone negotiations with Iran are currently ongoing, following his earlier warning about the possibility of restarting the war, signaling a shift toward diplomatic engagement.
He said that discussions with Iran are being conducted over the phone and emphasized that Iran must not possess nuclear weapons, adding that Iran would have to acknowledge defeat as the United States has largely achieved its objectives in the conflict.
Donald Trump claimed that 82 percent of Iran’s missiles have been destroyed and 159 naval vessels have been sunk, while also stating that the Iranian currency has lost its value, reflecting economic strain in the country.
He further revealed that he had a phone conversation with Vladimir Putin, during which they discussed issues related to Iran and Ukraine.
Trump said he made it clear to Putin that before the United States could assist in ending any conflict, Russia must first end its own war, in order to help restore stability in the region.
He also claimed that Putin expressed concern over Iran’s uranium enrichment activities, which remain a significant issue on the global stage.
