Russia has called on Pakistan and Afghanistan to end their ongoing armed confrontation and resolve their differences through political dialogue and diplomatic channels.
In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged both neighboring countries to exercise restraint and settle all disputed issues through peaceful means rather than military escalation.
Moscow emphasized the importance of maintaining regional peace and stability and encouraged both sides to avoid further escalation.
The statement comes after Pakistan announced that its security forces had successfully shot down four drones allegedly launched from Afghanistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), four drones were sent toward Pakistan’s Balochistan border on June 30. The military said Pakistan’s air defense system detected and intercepted all four drones before they could reach their targets.
The ISPR added that Pakistan’s security forces demonstrated a high level of operational readiness and successfully thwarted what it described as hostile intentions.
