Arab media has claimed that an interim agreement has been reached to release $3 billion to Iran as part of ongoing diplomatic negotiations.
According to an Arab TV report citing unnamed sources, Iran has demanded the release of $3 billion for each major phase of progress achieved during the negotiations.
The report said talks are continuing based on a proposal put forward by Oman regarding the future management of the Strait of Hormuz.
Sources added that the negotiating delegations will return to their respective countries to consult on Oman’s proposal before the next round of discussions.
However, there has been no official confirmation from Iran, the United States, or Oman regarding the reported interim agreement or the release of the funds.
