Pakistan is likely to name a 16-member Test squad for the upcoming tours of the West Indies and England.
According to sources, selectors initially planned to announce a 17-member squad but are now considering limiting the Test squad to 16 players.
One batter could be dropped to reduce the squad size, sources said.
Saud Shakeel may find it difficult to secure a place in the squad for the West Indies tour. However, selectors are reportedly considering including him for the three-Test series against England.
Consultations over the final 16-member squad are continuing, with an official announcement of Pakistan’s Test squad expected soon.
