People’s Party leader and prominent lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan has urged against any conflict in Parliament and called on the Supreme Court, Prime Minister, Minister of Law, Interior Minister, and Election Commissioner to meet.
The court asked why you should not be punished for contempt of the Supreme Court’s order, Aitzaz Ahsan said. If he is punished, he will be disqualified for five years.
Senior lawyer argued that the Constitution stipulates that elections must be held within 90 days. The Supreme Court must enforce the Constitution and the law. If the election does not take place, the Prime Minister, Minister of Law, and Rana Sanaullah will be held responsible.
Rana Sanaullah said they will not allow elections to take place on May 14. He demanded clarification from the Supreme Court, Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah, Azam Nazir Tarar, and the Election Commissioner.
“If they accept that we have insulted the court’s order, they should be punished,” Aitzaz Ahsan said, adding that the responsible persons, including the Prime Minister, should be disqualified for five years.
