ISLAMABAD: Registrar Supreme Court requested Chairman PAC, Noor Alam Khan, to conduct an audit after Eid, on his failure to do so. However, Noor Alam Khan stated that he is not afraid of anyone.
Under the leadership of Noor Alam Khan, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) held a meeting, attended by Secretary Housing and Chairman CDA, Noor Alam Mingal. During the meeting, the Secretary Housing disclosed the detention of 252 government officers by Federal Lodges, Islamabad, who are released after a year and can have their stay extended for an additional six months upon completion of their term.
Audit officials reported that currently 252 officers have been residing at the Federal Lodges for several years and 150 of them have obtained a stay order from the court.
The Public Accounts Committee directed the Ministry to immediately vacate Federal Lodges and Chairman PAC, Noor Alam Khan, stated that police assistance will be sought if needed.
On the other hand, the committee requested the Supreme Court Registrar to schedule an audit after Eid on the failure to conduct an audit. Chairman Noor Alam Khan mentioned that he is not afraid of anyone.
Furthermore, Noor Alam Khan reprimanded Chairman CDA, Noor ul Amin Mingal, for not sending the details of the plots.
The audit report on inter-provincial communication by the Ministry was also discussed during the PAC meeting. The committee expressed dissatisfaction with the absence of Najam Sethi.
