Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan appeared before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) at Zaman Park, Lahore to face charges related to terrorism.
Judge Ijaz Ahmed Buttar of the ATC heard Imran Khan’s requests for interim bails in two separate cases. The PTI chairman did not appear in court personally.
The court adjourned the hearing and kept Imran Khan’s interim bail requests pending.
When the hearing resumed, the court remarked that evidence should be presented as soon as Imran Khan appears. Imran Khan’s presence was mandatory.
Imran Khan’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, argued that these cases were politically motivated. He stated that he would present evidence of police misconduct in both cases, which are being overseen by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi, heading the larger bench.
Upon the court’s request, Imran Khan appeared before the Anti-Terrorism Court. At the time, a heavy police presence was observed in the court premises.
