Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Irfan Qadir, has stated that the judges’ cases will be taken up by the Supreme Judicial Council. Irfan Qadir said that judges will not be disrespected.
Irfan Qadir expressed that we believe the judges have established a bench of their own accord, and we will not allow any disregard for their position. He further stated that the judges will have to present their stance before the commission.
Setting the date for elections is not the judges’ responsibility, but they have taken on this task as well. It is unfortunate to say that the proceedings of the commission have been halted. Irfan Qadir mentioned that further evidence has emerged in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
The audio leaks issue can also be examined by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) along with the Supreme Judicial Council. The audio leaks contain elements of corruption, and it was stated that the process of accountability is essential for justice.
