Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) foiled a major terrorist plan on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. CTD arrested nine terrorists, including a female associated with a banned organization, during an operation in three sensitive cities.
According to CTD officials, the operation was conducted in Multan, Bahawalpur, and DG Khan. The arrested terrorists have links to the banned organization.
Officials stated that one of the arrested individuals, a female, is an active member of the banned organization’s network.
The suspects were found in possession of hand grenades, suicide jacket-making materials, and cash proceeds.
As per CTD authorities, the terrorists have been identified as Adnan, Abdul Haleem, Shiraz, Bilquis, and Omar bin Khalid.
Authorities revealed that the banned organization was planning a terrorist attack on Eid al-Adha. To counter their activities, cases have been registered against the terrorists, and investigations have been initiated.
Officials further informed that CTD conducted 124 combing operations in the past week, resulting in the arrest of 11 suspects.
It is stated that CTD is determined to suppress the activities of nefarious elements.
