The price of onion per kg in the country reached the highest level. The price of onions has surged to unprecedented levels, reaching up to Rs. 320 per kilogram.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, onion is being sold at 320 rupees in Islamabad, 310 rupees in Rawalpindi, 270 rupees in Sialkot, 280 rupees in Peshawar and 250 rupees in Khuzdar.
The statistical office said that the price of onion per kg in Karachi, Lahore and Gujranwala is 240 rupees, in Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan and Bahawalpur, Quetta, Sukkur and Larkana, the price per kg is up to 220 rupees. While onions are being sold at Rs 200 per kg in Hyderabad and Bannu.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, the maximum price of onion last week was Rs 260 per kg.
