Syed Abdullah Hassan, the anchor person of a private TV channel, died in a car accident on Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi.
According to the report, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) South Syed Asad Raza said that 40-year-old Syed Abdullah Hassan was driving the vehicle, which hit the footpath near the traffic signal. Rescue services shifted the anchor person to the hospital, where He was declared dead.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South Sajid Saduzai attributed the accident to over-speeding, adding that the vehicle’s front end was severely damaged.
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has expressed his condolences to the family of the late anchor person.
In the statement, Sharjeel Memon said that Syed Abdullah Hassan’s services in journalism will always be remembered.
Governor of Sindh Kamran Tesori has also expressed his regret over the death of the journalist. In sympathizing with the family of the late anchorperson, the Governor of Sindh said, May Allah grant forgiveness to the deceased, grant him high ranks, and give patience to the family, Amen.
Pakistan People’s Party Central Spokesperson Shazia Murri also expressed her grief over the death of the anchor person in the accident.
According to police and rescue services officials, earlier in July, a journalist was killed in a fuel tanker accident on the Baloch Colony flyover.
Karachi Traffic Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ahmed Nawaz Cheema told Dawn that due to the accident, both lanes of the busy road remained closed for several hours till noon.
DIG Traffic Police Karachi said that at 1:30 PM, it was reported that a fuel tank, which was separated from the tanker due to mechanical failure, hit a Suzuki Mehran vehicle passing by on the flyover. fell, resulting in the death of the driver of the vehicle, identified as Asad Abbas Zaidi.
The spokesman of Rescue 1122 identified the deceased from the identity card in his pocket, adding that the deceased worked for a private TV channel.
