The indictment proceedings against the accused in the case related to the protest at Faizabad against Imran Khan’s disqualification have once again been postponed.
Judge Tahir Abbas Supra of the Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court presided over the hearing, during which PTI leader Faisal Javed’s exemption from appearance was approved.
During the hearing, Aamir Mehmood Kiani appeared before the court. The judge remarked, “You came to court as soon as proceedings to declare you absconding began? Now there’s no choice but to send you to lock-up.”
The court granted interim bail to Aamir Mehmood Kiani against surety bonds worth one hundred thousand rupees, while proceedings to declare former Deputy Speaker Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi an absconder were initiated.
The court issued arrest warrants for the absent accused and warned that strict action would be taken if any of them fail to appear at the next hearing. The case has been adjourned until April 23.
