After securing the ICC Chairmanship, India has maintained its influence over the ICC Cricket Committee as well.
Currently, the head of the International Cricket Council (ICC) is former BCCI secretary Jay Shah, and key responsibilities within the council continue to be held by Indian officials, including leadership of the ICC Cricket Committee, which has long been chaired by former Indian cricketers.
Anil Kumble previously served three consecutive three-year terms as chairman of the committee before stepping down in 2021. He was succeeded by Sourav Ganguly, who has now been reappointed for another term extending to 2027 after completing his initial three-year tenure.
Former Indian Test cricketer VVS Laxman has also been reappointed. The committee includes Afghanistan’s Hamid Hassan, West Indies’ Desmond Haynes, South Africa’s captain Temba Bavuma, and former England cricketer Jonathan Trott.
During the annual ICC meeting in Harare, Zimbabwe, Catherine Campbell was reappointed as chairperson of the Women’s Cricket Committee. Avril Fahey and Foletsi Moseki were also added to the committee.
