A special ceremony was held in Lahore to honor the players and officials of six cricket teams participating in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier, along with a guided tour of the city’s historical landmarks.
According to PCB, the honorary event was hosted by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi at the iconic Shahi Qila (Lahore Fort), where the visiting women cricketers were treated as royal guests.
The event was attended by players, coaching, and management staff from the host country, Pakistan, as well as teams from Bangladesh, West Indies, Ireland, Scotland, and Thailand.
During their visit, the guest players were taken on a tour of Lahore’s historical landmarks, including the Shahi Qila, Badshahi Mosque, Iqbal’s Mausoleum, and Hazuri Bagh. The international women cricketers also enjoyed a colorful rickshaw ride and were thoroughly delighted by the experience.
On this occasion, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi welcomed all teams participating in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, stating that Pakistan is a peaceful, safe, and cricket-loving nation.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan has played two matches so far in the qualifier round, winning one and showing strong competition in the other.
A victory against a strong opponent like the West Indies in the third match could pave the way for Pakistan’s qualification to the World Cup.
