A dignified award ceremony was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir honored officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army with military awards for their courage, bravery, and exceptional service to the nation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a large number of senior military officials, as well as families of martyrs and award recipients, attended the ceremony. Various honors, including Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-e-Basalat, were conferred. The awards given to the martyrs were received by their families with pride and honor.
On this occasion, Army Chief General Asim Munir paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans, stating, “Martyrs and veterans are the pride of our nation. Honoring and respecting them is the duty of every Pakistani. Today’s peace and freedom are owed to the sacrifices of these brave sons of the soil.”
He further stated, “The respect and honor of martyrs is a sacred trust for every Pakistani.” He appreciated the sacrifices of the families of martyrs, commending their courage, patience, and steadfastness, adding that the nation is indebted to these great families.
The Army Chief also lauded the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies for their continuous struggle against terrorism, stating, “Our soldiers foiled several terrorist attacks and eliminated key terrorist commanders.”
He paid tribute to the determination, professionalism, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and said that the nation is proud of them.
This ceremony was not only a proud moment for the award recipients but also sent a message to the entire nation that the armed forces are always ready to safeguard the security, sovereignty, and peace of Pakistan.
