Pakistan has received a tranche of $1.23 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The State Bank of Pakistan confirmed the receipt of $1.23 billion from the IMF, stating that the amount has been issued as the second tranche under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) loan program.
According to the statement issued by the State Bank, the IMF’s review mission recommended the release of the tranche after evaluating Pakistan’s economic performance. The IMF Executive Board approved the disbursement of the amount on May 9.
This second tranche will be included in Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves as of May 16, 2025.
