The United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar district of Balochistan, calling it a cruel and cowardly act. The tragic incident claimed the lives of at least six Pakistani citizens, including four children, and injured 53 others, 39 of whom were children.
The Security Council members expressed deep sorrow and sympathy with the affected families, the Government of Pakistan, and its people. They also extended best wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.
The statement emphasized that terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, is among the most serious threats to international peace and security. Council members stressed that those responsible for the attack—its perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and facilitators—must be brought to justice.
The Council urged all countries to cooperate fully with Pakistan following international law and relevant Security Council resolutions to ensure accountability for the perpetrators.
The Security Council reaffirmed that any act of terrorism is unjustifiable, regardless of its motivation, purpose, or context. It also called on all states to confront terrorist threats through all means, in line with the UN Charter and international law, including human rights, refugee, and humanitarian law.
