Security agencies in the border area of Manawan, Lahore, have shot down an Indian drone that had entered Pakistani territory for surveillance purposes. The incident took place near Jandiala Road, where the drone was taken into custody after being downed.
According to SP Cantt Qazi Ali Raza, the drone is a hexacopter model, and initial investigations have confirmed that it originated from India. He stated that a complete inquiry into the incident is underway, and more details will be revealed once the investigation is completed.
He added that this incident is yet another attempt by India to violate Pakistan’s territorial integrity, which was successfully thwarted by timely action.
It is worth noting that the Pakistan Army recently shot down an Indian quadcopter near the Line of Control in the Bhimber’s Manawar Sector. Security officials said the drone had entered Pakistani airspace for espionage purposes, but the army’s prompt and effective action foiled India’s plan.
Sources revealed that the repeated intrusion of Indian drones is part of the ongoing tensions following the Pahalgam incident, during which India has continued provocative actions and issued threatening statements. Military officials stressed that the Pakistan Army is fully prepared to respond decisively to any aggression, and the nation stands in complete solidarity with its armed forces.
