Islamabad: An important update has been issued for candidates appearing in the Central Superior Services (CSS) examinations. The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has released details of vacancies for CSS 2024, announcing that a total of 364 posts have been allocated across various federal ministries and departments. Of these, 247 are newly created positions, while 117 are carry-over vacancies from previous years.
According to the official press note issued by FPSC, 214 seats have been allocated on open merit, 32 seats are reserved for women, and 118 seats are set aside for minorities. This allocation aims to ensure equal opportunities and fair representation across different social groups and regions.
The provincial quota has been divided as follows: Punjab candidates have been allotted the highest number of 179 seats, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 48, Balochistan 31, Sindh (Rural) 32, and Sindh (Urban) 29. Meanwhile, 15 seats have been reserved for former FATA, 8 for Azad Kashmir, and 4 for Gilgit-Baltistan.
FPSC stated that after the announcement of the CSS 2024 examination results, successful candidates will be allotted to various occupational groups and departments based on merit and provincial quotas.
